You're looking to provide housing for bluebirds, but your nest boxes are plagued with house sparrows or starlings. If you're up to the challenge, trapping and disposing of those birds is legal and may help with the problem.
This sparrow trap is a spring-loaded door that snaps shut once the sparrow or starling is inside. This should only be used if you can closely monitor the nest box and you KNOW either of those two birds are trying to use it, because it will trap ANY bird that enters. When the door snaps closed, a bright orange sticker is visible through the nest box entrance, making it easy to see from a distance.
Detailed instructions for installation and use are included. Four screws are included for installation on two houses. The snap door slips in and out easily, and can be moved between nest boxes as needed. It is not meant for permanent installation. It will need to be removed to allow bluebirds or other native birds to nest.
